Have you ever met anyone who doesn't like mimosas? It's a sweet, fruity drink with a bit of a boozy kick -- what's not to love? Typically, many often think of mimosas as solely champagne and orange juice, but it's actually all about the champagne and citrus mix. While you may be most familiar with the orange juice style, there are an array of mimosas that are made with other juices. If you haven't tried them, you've been missing out. Read below to learn a special homemade champagne lemonade recipe -- the perfect summertime mimosa that is great for events and occasions as well.
YOU WILL NEED...
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice
4 cups iced or cold water
HOW TO MAKE...
First, combine the water and sugar in a small pot. Bring to a boil while stirring regularly. Once boiling, remove from the heat and allow to cool. (This will create a sweet syrup for your lemonade.) Next, combine cold water with lemon juice and stir. Add cooled syrup and mix well. Add 1/2 cup of water or 2 tablespoons of lemon juice at a time if the lemonade needs to be less sweet or more sour to fit your preferences. Pour lemonade into your favorite glass -- filling approximately halfway. Pour champagne to top it off and voila! A delicious, bubbly mimosa.
